iPad 3 is coming…. are you ready?
Excitement for the predecessor of the iPad 2 is growing, we can smell the excitement for the new Apple tablet in the air, but what does the latest instalment in the Apple tablet hold? Will the iPad 3 be a tacky copy of the iPad 3 or will it be a revolution?
It has not been long since the iPad 2 was released in early 2011, At 241mm tall, 186mm wide, and 8.6mm thick the iPad 2 gave satisfaction to our tech craze generation, but with the iPad 3 rumoured to have retina display, iOS 5 and much more, the iPad 2 sounds like a tacky tablet, we reveal to the full low-down on the brand new iPad 3.
iPad 3 launch date
iPad 3 release date is what everyone want’s to know, with some blogs pointing out the release date to be somewhere around Christmas 2011, some tech geeks predicting October 2011, who do you trust?
Well according to Taiwanese industry sources claimed Apple has recently been approving materials from various manufacturers — as it doesn’t make its own parts — and will be looking to launch the iPad 3 in 2012. That would seem sensible and go with Apple’s cycle of releasing a brand new iPad every 8-10 months.
iPad 3 Retina display
Retina display is what us tech geeks wanted for the iPad 2, but Apple decided to disappoint us. With the iPhone 4 featuring Retina display, it’s anyone’s guess that the iPad 3 will feature Retina display, allowing out of this world graphics, allowing crisp HD movies (yes Megan Fox in HD in you’re palms!)
A recent code found by tech geeks revealed the features of the iPad 3, rumoured to feature 1,536×2,048 pixels for the iPad 3. That’s almost double the pixels as the current iPad 2. With such high pixels you will be able to see the smallest of detail. Retina display is only the way forward for Apple, as they aim to be one step ahead of competitors.
iPad 3 A6 chip
With the iPad 2 featuring the A5 chip and the first iPad featuring the A4 chip, it’s only certain that the iPad 3 will be pre-installed with the A6 chip.
The A6 will help to feed the power hungry iPad 3, and allow countless hour’s of music, movies and game play. Now you can feed you’re addiction of Angry Birds and play longer! The A6 will be feature the Quad-core variety, rather than the dual-core found on the A5. The A6 chip is also rumoured to be built into the iPhone 5 but there has still not been an official confirmation from Apple.
Built in USB
When we were introduced to the iPad, we were devastated that the iPad did not feature a USB slot. USB slot’s are fundamental in all laptops, Apple later came to realise this with the iPad 2. iPad 2 users have the option of buying the Apple Camera Conneciton Kit which will let you transfer files from an SD card or directly from a camera using a USB cable. This all seems a bit of a hassle and money consuming. Let’s hope the iPad 3 will not make the same mistake.
SD card slot
Since the dawn of the iPad, Apple has failed to listen to it’s consumers (we want SD card slots!) The first iPad did not feature any SD slots, not even a USB slot, that’s why thousands of consumers frowned upon the iPad. With such a simple concept not incorporated into the iPad and iPad 2 this is a must have for the iPad 3.
One reason why I believe Apple have failed to have a SD slot in their iPad’s is becasue they want to save money. Yes Apple are the richest company in America, yes Apple have more money than the American government, but they want to save money. Installing a SD slot costs billions of $’s, they do not want to upset shareholder’s and want to maximise profits, let’s hope hey think different this time.
iOS 5
With the iOS 5 revealed at WWDC this 2011, the tech world were buzzing. What we really want to see is a more dynamic operating system, preferably in the form of iOS 5 and all the goodies that should come with it. With the ability to do multi-tasking on the go, and the introduction of iMessage (allowing free texting between Apple devices) and more. The iOS 5 will surely rock the Apple world!
